First Impression - The Quarry

Since this is the first ever review on this site. I want to explain that first impression reviews are an initial reaction to the game and not the full final review. I will return with a final review after completion of the game playthrough.

Now lets get into it! The Quarry just released on June 10th, so were only 7 days in since its launch. It was developed by Supermassive Games who is known for putting out some amazing horror content. To name a few Little Nightmares, House of Ashes, and Until Dawn are some of their previous projects.

As for the main impression, The Quarry is another interactive drama horror game developed by Supermassive released for PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox.

I roughly played for a total of 2.5 hours on solo mode with a live audience on my twitch channel. Even though the game has a co-op couch mode it was disappointing that the devs did not follow the trend of The Dark Pictures Anthology series with online co-op. As for gameplay I did not adjust or change accessibility settings and have omit to using any filter packs offered over my gameplay. Usually games tend to bug out or break on me in initial releases so I did not want to tamper with the game graphics or settings.

Now for my gameplay. Its a fairly interactive playthrough but it required some patience, which I have. But, if I'm to be honest, the pacing is a bit slow due to the character movement speed and the confusion I get not knowing where I am from certain camera angles. This may also just be a slow burn I'm experiencing for now, two hours into the story nothing major has happened yet. I guess that may also mean I'm on a good path lmao. There is also an adventure factor played into the game because there are hidden objects and collectables you can look for (if you choose) as the story reveals.

Now I will admit I'm enjoying the voice acting, from all the characters and the story is leading me up to places and things I'm not fully understanding of just yet. I also enjoy some of the path decisions that pop up even though some of the choices stresses me out (adds excitement and suspense).  Anyway, I can't wait to continue the playthrough.
